Bridging the Gap

40 hour Medical Interpreter Training

Spring Institute's Interpreter Network of Colorado is licenced by Cross Cultural Health Care Program (CCHCP) of Seattle, WA to offer Bridging the Gap training in Colorado.

This 40-hour course is designed to train interpreters of all languages in basic interpreting skills, culture in interpreting, and communication skills for advocacy.

2010 training sessions:

December 13-17, 2010           (application deadline Monday, November 8, 2010)*

2011 training sessions:

February 14-18, 2011             (application deadline Monday, January 10, 2011)*

April 21, 22, 23, 29, 30, 2011 (application deadline Thursday, March 17, 2011)*

June 13-17, 2011                     (application deadline Monday, May 9, 2011)*

September 6-10, 2011            (application deadline Tuesday, August 2, 2011)*

December 6-10, 2011             (application deadline Wednesday, November 2, 2011)*

As a participant in this course, you will receive:

• 450-page manual
• A bilingual medical glossary (available in 20 languages)
• A guide to common medications
• Certificate of completion

Bilingual Medical Glossaries are available in these languages: Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian/Serbian, Cambodian, Chinese, English, French, Haitian, Hindi, Korean, Lao, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tigrignia, Vietnamese, and Urdu.
